Back to skateboarding again. We were testing on this particular piece – let’s call it awesome – the way one could
make doodles appear from a character. We wanted to make different types of doodle, those who were part of
the main character and doodles as composition just to fill some voids with color and aiding structure too.

Illustration Laboratory #4

Let’s move to fashion. Illustrating hair is kind of tricky, it takes a lot of time and some planning first, but the
end result is quite something. We wanted to see how pictures of flowers as background and sketching would
work together and let’s say that as a lab work, we have a lot of possibilities to keep testing and evolving.

Illustration Laboratory #3

As we’re stretching skills as well as increasing our illustration portfolio, here’s Sweet Spaghetti, an experiment
with a sneaker that took “some” hours sketching and converting into pannels, ready to doodle on, doodles all
over and a new type, “accidentally” found that adds a not so planned flavor to the composition. The interval
from day one for sketching and taking the the next day for creativity, was fundamental to keep things fresh.

Illustration Laboratory #2

Continuing with the lab, we keep on testing the doodles, type and now a photography of a jumping lady
behaviors, that gave the motto to the composition. These experiments with transparencies and textures are becoming a DNA imprinted into a combo of self expression and commissioned work, a creativity stretch
we’re very interested in testing. The figure’s shadow adds a scenario/ set feel to the composition.

Illustration Laboratory #1

We’ve been testing in our Illustration Laboratory the behavior of plain figures over textured backgrounds.
So we came up with this doodle illustration with a funny moment where a monster named Sasscratch is forcing
an arm less creature to scratch his back. There’s type, form, characters, drawn and city textures in a balanced
composition. We enjoy a lot this creative freedom because it allows to discover new processes to include in
clients work. Recently we did a van fleet decor which included a doodle like landscape. More soon.

Facebook Campaign Prosolvac

Still going on, this is a facebook campaign we created for the new fb page of one of our first clients, Prosolvac.
Being concerned about environment, we’ve put up a marketing campaign that simply collects the best photos
with Nature as theme, the page fans will be mailing to the client. Then, a jury composed by a photographer, will decide which are the best to vote. Winner takes a nice weekend in the country. Just needs a like on the page
and mail the photos. Number of likes is increasing and campaign is reaching a wider audience.

Skateboards #1

This is our SK8 lab #1! We wanted to test some doodles and colors over wood and display it in a cool mood,
you know, we mean skateboards. This is “NICE” and “Yeah!” being the first a composition with a doodle/cartoon
style and full of japanese textures, with the creature showing a nice electric smile. “Yeah!” is a happy foot over
a bunch of colored cotton. After this super fun lab, we’re sure of one thing… Let’s do some more.

Speed Corporate… Making of

As promised, this is the brand creation for a Portuguese brand new IT Company. This is the making of, right
from scratch, experiments with type, some inspiration around and at some point you might even find a scratch
on the tablet that already looks like the logo itself. Like we always say, technology is here to use and therefor
we ought to make the most of it and boy, isn’t it great when we have fun in the process.

Design on the Go

Recently, we were assigned to create the brand for an Internet Technology company. We had a tight schedule
and a busy week up ahead. So from research, we found new apps and ways to get work from scratch to digital faster. The app is PicsArt and it’s free so with the aid of a stylus pen, we could take pics and draw on the
tablet at the same time. Ideas got form, in any place we were. This digital/ analog meddle is quite interesting
and allows to sketch and use type accurately, quite closer to the end result. It will be on the blog soon.

Novo! What does it mean?

“Novo” means new in Portuguese. That’s our “new” concept for creative thinking and creative process.
We embrace new and constant change so we can challenge our minds and therefor deliver the most creative approach we can. This means that we’re going to experiment on working processes, digital and analog,
communication and different styles. Oh well, design!
